This is in response to your request for an advisory opinion from the Judicial Inquiry
Commission. Your question is whether it is unethical for a district court judge to refuse
to handle domestic relations cases where the presiding circuit court judge, pursuant to
Ala. Code 1975, § 12-17-70, has designated that all domestic relations cases be
handled by that district court judge.
