The Judicial Inquiry Commission has considered your request for an advisory opinion
concerning whether a judge may accept lodging, food, and recreational entertainment
for himself and his wife from a law firm in the judge’s county in exchange for providing a
three-hour legal seminar for the firm at its annual outing on the Gulf coast at which CLE
seminars are regularly presented for the firm’s members.
